BMI (Body Mass Index) is a measure of body fat based on height and weight that applies to adult men and women.
BMI is calculated by dividing your weight (in kilograms) by your height (in meters) squared.
- Underweight: Less than 18.5
- Normal weight: 18.5 to 24.9
- Overweight: 25 to 29.9
- Obese: 30 or greater
BMI is not a perfect measure as it doesn't account for factors like muscle mass, bone density, age, and sex.
